Slater Holds Annual Earth Day Photo Contest

Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C-Yorktown) partnered with Putnam County Youth Bureau and Putnam Arts Council for his annual Earth Day photo contest. Students from the Putnam County Youth Bureau took on the challenge and created drawings that were judged, and winners were elected by the Putnam Arts Council. This annual event helps kids learn more about the importance of taking care of our planet and protecting the environment.

“I want to thank the Putnam County Youth Bureau and Putnam Arts Council for their invaluable partnership in this annual event that serves as a catalyst for raising awareness of environmental stewardship and the importance of becoming champions of sustainability,” stated Assemblyman Slater. “Everyone did such an amazing job, and it was awesome to see the creativity each kid shared with us.”

“The Putnam County Youth Bureau staff and members of the Teens and Kids Mentoring program enjoyed creating Earth Day posters for the contest with Assemblyman Matt Slater. The students were so excited to be recognized for their artwork about how to protect our environment,” said Director of Putnam County Youth Bureau Janeen Cunningham.
