Silver, Gantt Call On State Department Of Transportation |
|
Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and Transportation Committee Chair David Gantt today called on the New York State Department of Transportation to release its Five-Year Capital Plan immediately, so that the Legislature can review the plan in the context of reviewing transportation capital needs throughout the state. "Time for a responsible and thorough review of the plan is rapidly running out," Silver wrote in a letter to New York State Department of Transportation Commissioner Astrid Glynn. "Therefore, we are requesting that you immediately submit your plan for Legislative and public review so that there is the opportunity to fully analyze and review the needs in the context of all the capital needs across the state. We also want to stress that we fully expect to see a balanced, complete and fully-funded plan." The Metropolitan Transportation Authority's Capital Plan and the State Department of Transportation's Five-Year Capital Plans were both required to be submitted to the Legislature no later than the end of this month. The MTA submitted its proposed program for public and legislative review over a week ago. ### Note: Click here to view a copy of the letter to Commissioner Glynn. |
