Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver briefly spoke with reporters after Gov. Eliot Spitzer announced his resignation Wednesday. Silver said his thoughts were with the Spitzer family and that it was time to move forward with Gov.-designate David Paterson to address the state's business, and that he was confident in Paterson's leadership abilities.
