Goodell Officially Joins New York State Assembly
Assemblyman sworn in at Albany ceremony
Assemblyman Andy Goodell (R, C – Chautauqua County) was sworn in today as a member of the New York State Legislature. Goodell was joined by friends, family and colleagues in Hearing Room B of the Legislative Office Building in Albany for the ceremony, which was presided over by Acting New York Supreme Court Justice Craig J. Doran. The assemblyman indicated that he is proud to serve the people of the 150th Assembly District and eager to begin improving the quality of life in Western New York.
“Serving the people of Western New York is a great privilege, and I look forward to focusing all of my energy on meeting their needs and expectations,” said Goodell. “I am fully prepared to work with my colleagues in the state legislature to deliver tax relief, support our agricultural industry and change the way that business is done in Albany.”
Goodell currently practices law as an attorney. He formerly held the post of Chautauqua County Executive for eight years. Goodell won the election for state Assembly in the 150th District in November of 2010. Joining the Assemblyman at the ceremony was his wife Lisa Goodell, along with his stepson, Alex Gniewecki.
“Western New Yorkers are fed up with overregulation and skyrocketing taxes, and that is exactly what I plan to change as a member of the state Assembly,” said Goodell. “I am confident that the fresh perspective I bring as a newly-elected assemblyman will help spur economic growth and get New Yorkers back to work.”
