Legislation Passed To Restore Funding For OPWDD
Statement from Assemblyman Andy Goodell (R,C,I-Chautauqua)
June 17, 2013
Today, the Assembly unanimously passed legislation to restore funding for the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and our local providers. I want to thank my colleagues for their hard work and dedication in support of these critical funds. We have a responsibility to speak up for those in our society who aren’t able to do so for themselves.
When the budget was passed, my Assembly Minority colleagues and I offered an amendment to restore this funding. While it took longer than it should have to get this money back, I’m glad we were able to pass this legislation today and restore this funding.
