Smullen Supports Bipartisan Efforts to Bring 134 Hostages Being Held in Gaza Back Home

A Statement from Assemblyman Robert Smullen (R,C-Mohawk Valley and the Adirondacks) in response to a bipartisan press conference in Albany on April 2, 2024, to call for the release of 134 hostages currently being held in Gaza.

“My thoughts go out to the families of the 134 hostages still being held in Gaza by Hamas, and I am praying for all of the hostages’ safe return home. The hostages have been held in Gaza for 179 days, and of the 134 hostages, five of them are U.S. citizens still believed to be alive, and two of them are New Yorkers. It is horrifying to see this level of inhumanity persist, and I can only imagine what the families of these victims are going through. I strongly support this bipartisan effort and am proud to partner with the New York Chapter of ‘Run for Their Lives’ to bring these individuals home. We must stand together and do everything we can to bring them home now.”
