Enacts the Judicial Campaign Finance Reform Act of 2006; provides for public financing for judicial elections; local option public financing for judicial candidates; establishes the New York state judicial election campaign fund; provides penalties for violations thereof.

COMMENDING the Junior League of Central
Westchester upon the occasion of its designation for
special honor by the Scarsdale Edgemont Family
Counseling Service on May 3, 2006
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Junior League of Central Westchester upon the occasion of
its designation for special honor by the Scarsdale Edgemont Family
Counseling Service at the Gourmet Galaxy Benefit on May 3, 2006; and
WHEREAS, A part of the community since 1947, the Junior League of
Central Westchester is an organization of women who represent a cross
section of women living in Eastchester, Greenburgh, Scarsdale and White
Plains and are committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the
potential of women and improving the community through the effective
action and leadership of trained volunteers; and
WHEREAS, The Junior League of Central Westchester is a part of the
Association of Junior Leagues International and has around 300 members
and sustainer members who are accomplished collaborators who identify
community needs and develop effective and responsive programs to serve
those needs; and
WHEREAS, The current and new programs that the Junior League of
Central Westchester has developed to serve the community include the
Children's Book Project, Dental Day, Done in a Day, the Interracial
Women's Leadership Roundtable, Protect the Children, Safety Town,
Stepping Stone, Story Time and the Women's Health Initiative; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Junior League of Central Westchester upon the occasion of
its designation for special honor by the Scarsdale Edgemont Family
Counseling Service on May 3, 2006; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Junior League of Central Westchester.
