Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund Revenues for January 2013 Total $11.13 Million

Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr. (I-Sag Harbor) today reported that the Peconic Bay Community Preservation Fund (CPF) produced $11.13 million in revenue for the Peconic Bay Region for January 2013. This compared with $3.41 million a year ago. That represents a 226% increase from last January. There were 1054 transactions this year compared with 499 a year ago. The January 2013 total is the highest month total since May 2007. The CPF has generated $789.77 million since its inception in 1999. The 2% transfer tax expires in 2030.
