Norris Works To Deliver for Upstate Roads in Budget

Assemblyman Mike Norris (R,C,I,Ref-Lockport) testified at the Joint Budget Conference Committee on Transportation during a briefing today on 2019-20 State Budget negotiations. Norris was appointed to serve as a representative on the committee by Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,C-Canandaigua).

“As the April 1 state budget deadline approaches, I am pleased to report that we are working together to make sure the transportation needs of our state are met. I am working very hard to encourage my colleagues to include more funding for local roads and bridges, Extreme Winter Recovery and reimbursement for local governments that maintain state roads.”

Norris has been a vocal supporter of the state’s Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS) and the Extreme Winter Recovery (EWR) program, and has been a leading voice calling for an increase to the Arterial Highway Reimbursement Rate, which was last adjusted in 1987.
