Speaker Heastie and Assemblymember Lunsford Visit Buffalo Bills at Training Camp on Speaker's Annual Statewide Tour
Speaker Carl Heastie and Assemblymember Jen Lunsford today visited the Buffalo Bills for training camp at St. John Fisher University to discuss the impact hosting training camp has on the Rochester community.
“For over 20 years, the Buffalo Bills have come here to St. John Fisher University for training camp, and Bills Mafia has shown up to support them,” said Speaker Heastie. “It was great to be here today with Assemblymember Lunsford and to see the economic impact this has on the surrounding businesses and the pride this brings to the communities in Western New York.”
“I am so proud that our district gets to host the Bills Training Camp at St. John Fisher year after year,” said Assemblymember Lunsford. “For so many families here in the Rochester area, this is their only opportunity to see our Buffalo Bills play in person and to engage up close with the players that inspire so much unity and pride here in New York. The economic impact of this camp on our area hotels, restaurants and local businesses is massive. We are truly blessed to welcome the team and I am so grateful to host Speaker Heastie this year to show him how much this means to our community.”
Speaker Heastie and Assemblymember Lunsford joined with St. John Fisher President Gerard Rooney and Assemblymembers Demond Meeks, Sarah Clark and Harry Bronson to visit the Buffalo Bills training camp at St. John Fisher University. The Bills have been travelling to St. John Fisher University since 2000 for training camp. Every year, thousands of fans come to watch the training camp each day and go out in the area to eat, drink, shop and play.
