TITLE OF BILL:
 
An act to amend the election law, in relation to expanding voter regis-
tration to include registration by certain agencies or entities
 
 
PURPOSE:
 
Expands voter registration to include registration by certain agencies
or entities.
 
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
 
Section 1 Subdivision 13 of section 5-900 of the election law, as
amended by chapter 37 of the laws of 2021, is amended.
 
Section 2 is the effective date.
 
 
JUSTIFICATION:

New York is on a clear path assuring that individuals interacting with
government agencies will have a straight-forward and effective opportu-
nity to register to vote and that officials assisting such persons will
facilitate the voter registration process. This bill adjusts some of the
effective cross reference points and makes certain appropriate technical
changes to existing law.
