Assemblyman Stirpe Casts Vote for Women’s Equality Act

Urges Senate to pass legislation expanding women’s legal rights

“Today, I voted for a law which levels the legal playing field for the mothers, daughters, and sisters of New York. This law will end sexual discrimination in the workplace, which gives our mothers and daughters more opportunities for promotion and raises so they do not have to choose between career and family, stop source-of-income discrimination for renters, and defend the victims of sex trafficking and domestic violence. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to pass this critical legislation. We must all work together to make sure each of the ten points is passed by the Senate and enacted for the women of New York.”
