Assemblyman Santabarbara’s Autism Action Day Resumes This Year at the State Capitol

Autism advocacy groups, direct-care workers, self-advocates, families expected to return to Albany

April is Autism Acceptance Month! Assemblyman Santabarbara will be resuming his annual Autism Action Day at the State Capitol NEXT WEDNESDAY APRIL 6th.

This day of advocacy on autism issues, legislation and funding hosted by Assemblyman Santabarbara, Chair of the New York State Assembly’s Sub-Committee on Autism Spectrum Disorders will bring together organizations, self-advocates and family members together with legislators from across state.

This year’s keynote speaker is Commissioner Kerri E. Neifeld, new Commissioner of the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities.

In addition, Assemblyman Santabarbara will present the 2022 Autism Action Award to Hill and Markes, Inc. of Amsterdam, NY, for their new partnership with New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID) that provides good-paying jobs for people with disabilities.
