Assemblyman Santabarbara’s Autism Action Day Resumes This Year at the State Capitol

Autism advocacy groups, direct-care workers, self-advocates, families expected to return to Albany

April is Autism Acceptance Month! Assemblyman Santabarbara will be resuming his annual Autism Action Day at the State Capitol on WEDNESDAY APRIL 6th.

In its 10th year, this day of advocacy on autism issues, legislation and funding is hosted by Assemblyman Santabarbara, Chair of the New York State Assembly’s Sub-Committee on Autism Spectrum Disorders, and has brought together organizations, self-advocates and family members together with legislators from across state.

This year’s keynote speaker is Commissioner Kerri E. Neifeld, NEW Commissioner of the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities.

In addition, Assemblyman Santabarbara will present the 2022 New York State Autism Action Award to Hill and Markes, Inc. of Amsterdam, NY, in recognition of their new partnership with New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID) that provides good-paying jobs and new opportunities for people with disabilities.
