Assemblyman Santabarbara Statement on AG James Investigation into DocGo

BREAKING UPDATE: “In the wake of my correspondence, and after extensive weeks of dialogue and partnership with my team, Attorney General Letitia James has notified my office of her intention to launch an investigation into the irresponsible actions of DocGo, contractor hired by New York City to relocate migrants.

Their decision to relocate migrants to the Super 8 Motel in Rotterdam without any prior notice or coordination with local authorities resulted in the sudden displacement of vulnerable individuals and families.

It is imperative that we call for transparency and responsibility. This important development marks a crucial stride in evaluating the legality of the abrupt evictions that occurred without advance warning, as well as potential breaches of fundamental rights.

While addressing the challenges faced by migrants remains significant, it must not come at the expense of our own citizens. We must ensure that the rights and well-being of all community members are upheld even in the face of challenging circumstances.

Together we must stand for compassion and fairness for all!”
