Statement Regarding NYC Comptroller’s Rejection of NYC’s No-Bid Contract with DocGo

“The rejection of the city’s no-bid contract worth $432 million to DocGo for the housing and care of migrants by New York City Comptroller Brad Lander is not only entirely justified but also comes after a careful and thorough examination of the contract's many shortcomings. These deficiencies include DocGo's lack of relevant experience in handling such matters and a concerning lack of transparency throughout the decision-making process.
Since Mayor Eric Adams placed migrants in the Super 8 Motel in Rotterdam in July, I have continued to call on him to prioritize the welfare and well-being of migrants and residents of our community. Instead of attempting to override the comptroller's objections, it is imperative that Mayor Adams reconsiders this decision. This matter raises critical concerns regarding accountability and the necessity for a rigorous vetting process for contracts like this.”
