Assemblyman Santabarbara Secures $200,000 for Major Improvements at Rao Family Stadium
Funding will support state-of-the-art digital scoreboard and new outfield fencing at Shuttleworth Park
Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara today announced that he has secured $200,000 in state funding for major improvements at Rao Family Stadium at Shuttleworth Park, home of the Amsterdam Mohawks. The funding provided for the installation of a state-of-the-art digital scoreboard and new outfield fencing, enhancing the experience for players, fans, and the broader community.
Assemblyman Santabarbara was joined by Amsterdam city officials, representatives of the Amsterdam Mohawks organization, and community leaders for a first look at newly completed improvements ahead of Opening Night.
“These investments are about more than baseball – they’re about community pride, economic activity, and creating a first-class experience for families and visitors coming to Amsterdam,” said Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara. “The Amsterdam Mohawks are a tremendous asset to our region, and these improvements at Rao Family Stadium will help ensure Shuttleworth Park continues to serve as a premier destination for sports and community events for years to come.”
The new digital scoreboard will provide enhanced game presentation capabilities, including real-time statistics, graphics, and fan engagement features, while the upgraded outfield fencing will improve both the appearance and functionality of the stadium.
The improvements come as the Mohawks prepare for another exciting summer season at Rao Family Stadium, which has long been recognized as one of the premier collegiate baseball venues in the region.
