Assemblyman Santabarbara Invites Community to Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary with Family-Friendly Fourth of July Events
Community celebration in Schenectady will honor America’s 250th anniversary with history, culture, and family-friendly activities
Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara is inviting residents to take part in the many family-friendly Fourth of July events taking place in Schenectady as the community celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.
Hosted in partnership with the City of Schenectady and numerous community organizations, the celebration will feature patriotic traditions, local history, cultural events, music, and activities for all ages as the community commemorates our nation’s founding.
“As we commemorate America’s 250th anniversary, this Fourth of July is a special opportunity to celebrate the birth of our nation, honor our history, and reflect on the values that continue to guide us,” said Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara. “I encourage everyone to take part in these family-friendly events and join communities across our country in celebrating this historic milestone.”
From historical programs and cultural traditions to music, community gatherings, and family-friendly activities, the celebration offers something for everyone. Whether you attend one event or spend the entire day in Schenectady, you’ll find many ways to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

8:30 a.m. – Honoring the Roots of Democracy & the Great Law of Peace

9:00 a.m. – Yoga for Sovereignty

10:30 a.m. – Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence
• Steps of Schenectady City Hall 105 Jay Street
11:30 a.m. – Declaration Day: A Living Tradition
• Gateway Plaza with Lady Liberty

3:00 p.m. – Haudenosaunee Social Dance
