Statement from Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara on the Passing of Sister Maria Rosa
“I’m deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sister Maria Rosa, whose lifetime of faith, service, and compassion left a lasting mark on St. Anthony’s Church and the Schenectady community.
I had the pleasure of knowing Sister Maria Rosa for many years through St. Anthony’s Church. She was always a welcoming presence, and I always looked forward to seeing her friendly smile each year at the annual St. Anthony’s Festa. I have many fond memories of visiting with her there over the years.
Sister Maria Rosa devoted her life to serving God and others with kindness, humility, and unwavering faith. She touched countless lives through her dedication to the parish and will be remembered for the warmth and compassion she shared with everyone she met.
My wife Jennifer and I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Venerini Sisters, the parish family at St. Anthony’s Church, and all who knew and loved Sister Maria Rosa. May she rest in eternal peace.”
