Assemblyman Santabarbara Encourages Veterans Looking for Work to Use Veterans Job Bank

In an effort to help former armed service members find employment, Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara (D-Schenectady) is inviting veterans to use to the Veterans Job Bank to assist them in their job search.

“Although veterans possess many skills that employers are looking for, too many of our recently discharged service members are having difficulty finding employment here at home,” Assemblyman Santabarbara said. “We owe it to those who have served our country with honor to help them find a job when they transition out of active duty.”

The Veterans Job Bank is part of the National Resource Directory and was created to provide a place where veterans and employers could list and find employment opportunities.

“Assemblyman Santabarbara has shown time and time again that he is committed to helping veterans upon their return from active service,” said William Frank, director of the Schenectady County Veterans Service Agency. “The Veterans Job Bank is a valuable resource for veterans looking for work and I’m thankful that the assemblyman is letting veterans know that the job bank exists.”

Assemblyman Santabarbara has long been an advocate for veterans. During his time as a Schenectady County legislator, Santabarbara fought for the inclusion of the “Helmets to Hardhats” program when construction plans for a new Glendale Nursing Home were approved. The “Helmets to Hardhats” program connects former service members with construction companies looking to hire veterans.
