“The fact that the federal government shutdown is causing financial hardship for the families of our military heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice is truly disgusting. These families, who are already facing unthinkable heartbreak and tragedy, should be able to mourn their loved ones without additional burdens resulting from a political deadlock in Washington. I urge that these individuals are provided the money they are entitled to.”
