Assemblyman Jones Secures Funding for Saranac Lake Park

Assemblyman Billy Jones (D-Plattsburgh) recently participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new fence installed at William Morris Park in Saranac Lake. Jones secured a $10,000 grant to fund the construction.

“Having grown up in the North Country, I know what a great place it is to live and raise a family,” said Jones. “From parks that offer fun activities to the beautiful hiking trails in the Adirondack Mountains, our region is home to countless recreational opportunities. I’ll always invest in our community’s cherished spots so they’re preserved for our children and grandchildren to enjoy.”

Jones secured a $10,000 grant for the new fence. The park contains a playground facility as well as the Adirondack Carousel, which features hand-carved animals native to the region. Jones was joined at the ceremony by Adirondack Carousel Director Jennifer Hunt.

“On behalf of the board, I want to thank Assemblyman Billy Jones, as well as New York State, for the funding that made this beautiful new fence possible.” said Adirondack Carousel Director Jennifer Hunt. “The Adirondack Carousel has enjoyed seven years of success and we are very proud of this improvement to the historic William Morris Park, to the Adirondack Carousel, and to the Village of Saranac Lake.”
