DiPietro: Canceled Session Is Assembly Majority Dodging Responsibility

A statement from Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C,I-East Aurora)

“Just before legislative session was to start yesterday, the Majority decided to cancel it. Among things we were supposed to address today were bipartisan nursing home reforms and the removal of the governor’s emergency powers. Majority leadership is dodging their responsibilities and the serious issues facing New York state. It is unacceptable that the Majority just shuts down the Assembly whenever they have to deal with tough issues. We are still in a pandemic and engulfed in unprecedented scandal from the governor’s office, and they can’t even be bothered to show up to work. If they won’t do their jobs, we need to find someone who will.”
