‘Special Art Opening’ a Great Success!

Wonderful exhibit features the work of local artist Dan Rupe

Hudson- Assemblymember Didi Barrett (D – Mid-Hudson) turned her Hudson office in to an art gallery in order to host a special opening of colorful art work of the local community done by the talented Dan Rupe. The event gave Barrett the opportunity to not only showcase the work of a talented local artist, but it gave her an opportunity to chat with constituents and local elected officials as well.

“Art for me is an experience of the moment and who and where I am,” said Dan Rupe, artist. “It is my language to the world. This show is primarily of Columbia County and some of the people that live here.”

“I am very excited to be able to showcase the works of local talent in my district office,” said Assemblymember Barrett. “The Hudson Valley is full of talented folks like Dan, and I wanted to be able to feature not only local talent but the beautiful scenery of our area as much as I can.”

Working with the Hudson Opera House, Barrett’s office will feature a rotating gallery of works by artists from all over the local area.

“We’re always delighted to partner with Assemblymember Barrett and especially thrilled to work together on an arts exhibition,” said Gary Schiro, Executive Director of the Hudson Opera House. “Didi understands the transformative power of the arts both for the individual and for communities, and we’re very happy to help put this exhibition together.”
