Ra: Schools Left in The Dark as Albany Continues to Stall

A Statement from Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square)

“It has been more than two weeks since New York’s budget deadline and there is still no final agreement in sight. Meanwhile, school districts across the state are left scrambling as they prepare their budgets for the upcoming year in the dark. By next week, schools are legally required to release their proposed budgets to the public – the problem is they still don’t know how much state aid they will receive. The dysfunction in Albany creates chaos for leaders in our communities who play by the rules. There is no excuse for this delay. New Yorkers do care, and they expect leadership that is effective, transparent and does its job. They deserve better.”
