Ra Participates In State Board Of Regents Interview Process

Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square), Ranking Minority Member on the Education Committee, recently joined Assembly and Senate members of the Education and Higher Education committees to interview candidates for the state Board of Regents.

“The Board of Regents plays a vital role in the future of our state’s education system,” said Ra. “While many of the prospective candidates are qualified and well-rounded, it is critical that the individuals selected for the position bring a fresh perspective to the table, and are willing to advocate both within the Board and with the legislature to make the changes necessary to get our classrooms and school districts back on track.”

Over the past few years, Ra has worked alongside education stakeholders throughout the state to develop measures that would return control back to the local level and, ultimately, incite necessary change in New York State standards and curriculum.
