New York, NY – On Saturday, November 23, Assemblymember Grace Lee and Vision Urbana launched their 6th annual turkey drive on the Lower East Side. For six years now, Assemblymember Lee and Vision Urbana have proudly organized the largest annual turkey drive on the Lower East Side, delivering turkeys to 1,100 families in public and subsidized housing. With the support of local nonprofit organizations, elected officials, and volunteers, they successfully delivered turkeys and chickens to families in NYCHA and Section 8 housing developments. Additional partners of the turkey drive included Congressmember Dan Goldman, Senator Brian Kavanagh, Councilmember Christopher Marte, the Hispanic Federation, Food Bank For New York City, Trinity Church Wall Street, City Harvest, and United Way.

“With the rising cost of groceries, we know how hard it can be to make ends meet. This turkey drive is about easing that burden, ensuring every family has a turkey on their table this Thanksgiving, and spreading a little cheer throughout our community,” said Assemblymember Grace Lee. “The ongoing success of this drive is an amazing demonstration of the solidarity and generosity in our Lower East Side community. It was a joy to connect with so many residents this weekend and share the holiday spirit.
