DeStefano: Majority Conferences Continue to Abuse State Budget Extensions

A Statement By Assemblyman Joe DeStefano (R,C-Medford) on the second Emergency Budget Extender Bill.

“Today, another budget extension was passed to give Albany Majority lawmakers more time to settle their party infighting, which is still holding up the state budget proceedings. It’s disappointing, yet not surprising, to see what one-party rule results in–a late, fiscally-irresponsible budget that is rushed and not transparent to residents of the state. This year we are expecting to see another state spending record of over $230 billion, which will ultimately mean higher taxes for you. I will continue to support my constituents in the 3rd Assembly District and fight for a fair, fast and transparent budget that will fit your needs.”
