DeStefano: Call for Release of 134 Hostages in Gaza

A statement by Assemblyman Joe DeStefano (R,C-Medford) on the Israeli hostage crisis in Gaza.

Assemblyman Joe DeStefano (R,C-Medford), joined by other members in the Assembly Minority Conference, called for the release of the 134 hostages being held in Gaza. Two New Yorkers are among the hostages being held since the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks. Considering the strong relationship between Israel and New York, we stand hopeful and united these hostages will be released.

“I am honored to be able to say I was one of many individuals who attended the ‘Run for Their Lives’ rally earlier today. What is happening in Gaza has created global tension surrounding an atrocious and horrifying war and hostage situation. This needs to end. We are calling for the release of the 134 hostages, and I am urging the federal government to find a way to bring our fellow New Yorkers home.”
