Assemblymember McMahon Seeking Nominations for 6th Annual Women of Distinction Awards

Amherst – To coincide with the start of Women’s History Month, Assemblymember Karen McMahon (D-Amherst) announced on Friday that she is seeking nominations for her 6th annual Women of Distinction Awards.

The Women of Distinction Awards honor women in the 146th Assembly District who have had a significant and positive impact on the community in the fields of education, community/civic affairs, military service, health care, volunteerism, or other endeavors. Anyone may submit a nomination on behalf of a woman who has served the community in notable and important ways.

“I am thrilled to be hosting my 6th annual Women of Distinction Awards,” McMahon said. “Every year, I look forward to reading all of the outstanding nominations that are submitted. It is always tough to make the final decisions, but it is an honor to be able to recognize the remarkable women of Amherst who step up and make meaningful contributions to our community. I encourage you to nominate someone you know who is deserving of this award.”

Nominations for the 2024 Women of Distinction Awards will be accepted until April 5. Visit https://nyassembly.gov/mem/Karen-McMahon to submit a nomination. Nominees must be residents of the 146th Assembly District (Town of Amherst). Winners will be selected before the end of April and an award ceremony will follow in June.
