Walsh Applauds Bipartisan Efforts of NY Congressional Delegation

The New York state Congressional delegation wrote a letter to federal leaders to request federal funds for the state of New York. With the highest number of infection rates and positive cases of COVID-19, New York remains the most impacted state in our nation. State and local economies have felt the devastating impacts of the pandemic, and in order to make up for massive losses due to expenses and lost tax and fee revenue, New York requires immediate economic assistance. In their letter, New York Congressional leaders are requesting robust funding and expanded flexibility in the use of the funds to meet the needs of each municipality.

“During these unprecedented times, now more than ever, we need to work together to support the fundamental needs of our state, our already overburdened localities and the 19 million residents who are counting on us,” said Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C,I-Ballston). “As our local communities continue to grapple with the hardships of the economic impacts of COVID-19, I applaud Congresswoman Stefanik and her colleagues for their bipartisan support and for calling on the federal government to provide funding for our state and local governments.”
