Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C-Yorktown) is honored to receive the Farmer’s Voice Award from the New York Farm Bureau in recognition of his continued advocacy for New York’s agricultural community. Slater maintains an active partnership with the Farm Bureau and local farmers to advance policies that support the economic stability and long-term success of agriculture in the Hudson Valley.

Slater has championed legislation such as the Farm Worker Housing Tax Credit (A00313), which would expand existing tax credits to help farmers cover the costs of constructing housing for farm workers. He has also met regularly with New York Farm Bureau members during their legislative advocacy days in Albany to discuss key challenges facing the state’s agricultural industry.

In addition, Slater is also working with colleagues in Albany on broader environmental and transportation issues affecting the state. Slater recently cosponsored legislation (A00472) that would establish a Clean Fuel Standard of 2026, directing the Department of Environmental Conservation to develop regulations aimed at reducing greenhouse gas intensity in the transportation sector while promoting fuel innovation and long-term energy sustainability.
