Bolton Eagles Celebrate Class D State Title with Capitol Visit

Assemblyman Matt Simpson (R,C-Adirondack) and Sen. Dan Stec (R,C-Queensbury) welcomed the Bolton Boys Varsity Basketball team to the Capitol after securing the Class-D state championship this past winter. They were led by a trio of 1000-point career benchmark scorers and it was the Eagles’ first varsity state championship across any sport.

“Congratulations once again to the Bolton Boys Varsity Basketball team. The team had a historic run en route to a remarkable 26-1 record and dominant performance in the state championship-clinching game,” said Simpson.

“I also want to extend congratulations to Jace Hubert and Liam Foy for each achieving the 1000-point career benchmark this season and to New York State Class D Player of the Year Jaxon Egloff on setting the all-time school record for career points scored.

“The entire team achieved something very special that they will carry with them their entire lives. The 114th Assembly District is very proud of these young men and all they have accomplished,” Simpson concluded.

“It’s always a special occasion when we can celebrate our local student-athletes,” said Stec. “The Bolton High School Boys Varsity Basketball team had an impressive season that culminated in a state championship. Being able to meet with the team and honor these individuals and their coach on the Senate floor was a nice way to commemorate their hard work and victory. Congratulations again to the team!”
