Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages Partners with American Red Cross to Promote Fire Safety Through Community Day of Service

Elmont, NY – Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages recently partnered with the American Red Cross to host a free Community Day of Service focused on fire prevention and emergency preparedness for local families.

During the event, residents received fire safety education, learned how to better prepare their households for emergencies, and were provided with free smoke detectors to help protect their homes. Participants completed hands-on fire safety training before receiving smoke detectors to install throughout their residences.

"As recent fires have reminded us, preparedness can save lives," said Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages. "I am grateful to the American Red Cross for partnering with us to provide our neighbors with the knowledge and resources they need to keep their families safe. Investing in prevention today helps protect our communities tomorrow."

The event reflects Assemblywoman Solages' ongoing commitment to public safety and ensuring residents have access to resources that strengthen community resilience.
