2020 Summer Reading Challenge - Sponsored by Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages

Summertime means a chance to explore new books and e-books, learn new skills, and check out resources, programs and activities through Summer Reading at New York Libraries. It’s the perfect time for students of all ages to see what their local library has to offer! The 2020 summer reading slogan and theme is “Imagine Your Story,” a celebration of fairy tales, folklore, mythology, and sharing your own unique story and voice. This year, libraries will be offering a selection of exciting online and virtual programming – special events, reading challenges, fun activities, and more – throughout the summer. To sign up for Summer Reading and find out what YOUR local library has planned for summer reading and summer learning programs, check out your local library's website.

Join our Summer Reading Challenge by committing to reading for 40 days. Download the calendar and check off the days you read with your child. At the end of the summer, please mail the calendar to our district office. We will mail your child a Summer Reading Challenge 2020 Certificate to reward them for being a great reader this summer.
