Assemblywoman Pheffer Amato Brings MTA MetroCard Van to Community

Far Rockaway, NY – New York State Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato has once again partnered with the MTA to bring their mobile van to the community. The van will be at JASA Brookdale at 131 Beach 19th Street on Monday, September 30th, from 10am-2pm. During that time residents can obtain or refill their Senior or Disability Reduced Fare MetroCard, transfer balances, and get answers to questions about other services provided by the MTA.

The MetroCard Van is one of the Assemblywoman most sought-after events. “This is such a vital service for our community, especially for our seniors as so many of these services are not readily available at stations in our community. I want to create more access and accessibility for people to get around our City when dealing with public transportation. We need to make things easier for people, and this van is a great tool to do that,” said Assemblywoman Pheffer Amato.

Pheffer Amato had previously had the MetroCard at the First Congregational Church on Beach 94th Street in late August. The MTA reported that 50 new people signed up for reduced MetroCard through Pheffer Amato’s event, aside from the copious amount of people who came to refill their card.
