Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C-Batavia) Calls for Affordability, Responsible Spending and Energy Relief Ahead of Budget Proposal
Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C-Batavia) today responded in frustration after voting against the state Assembly’s budget resolution.
The resolution is the first public presentation of priorities that the Assembly Majority, who are the sole authors of the resolution, want to include in the final state budget.
Hawley notes that this is a state budget “wish list” by the Assembly Majority, and this year’s resolution was abundant in new taxes and record state spending.
“Families across our state are already struggling with high taxes, rising utility bills and the growing costs of everyday necessities. Our budget should prioritize responsible spending, protect taxpayers and make sure we’re doing what we can do to help make life easier for New Yorkers. New Yorkers deserve a budget that helps them keep more of their hard-earned money and makes it easier to live and work in our state.”
