Speaker Heastie Tours the North Shore of Staten Island with Assemblyman Fall

Yesterday, New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie visited the 61st Assembly District, North Shore of Staten Island.

The visit included stops to the Empire Outlets, Curtis High School, Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden, the Bayonne Bridge and Lacey’s Bridge Tavern. At the Bayonne stop, the Speaker and Assemblyman Fall discussed the capital investment needed to activate a Bus Rapid Transit system and add open green space and amenities under the bridge for surrounding communities to utilize.

“First and foremost I want to thank Speaker Heastie for his leadership and support throughout my first legislative session and for taking the time to visit my district for the second time this year to grasp the importance of continuing the revitalization of the North Shore of Staten Island.

We have come a long way here on the North Shore, but we have so much more to do, such as establishing a Bus Rapid Transit system and receiving approval for the 2019 Staten Island Downtown Revitalization Initiative Proposal that would benefit the North Shore neighborhoods of Saint George, Stapleton and Tompkinsville,” said Assemblyman Charles D. Fall.
