North Shore Meets With South Shore in Solidarity Effort

Yesterday, Assemblyman Charles D. Fall (D-Richmond) and Assemblyman Michael Reilly (R-Richmond) took part in an Assembly district swap in an effort to familiarize themselves with one another’s district.

During Assemblyman Fall’s tour of District 62 on the South Shore he visited Intermediate School 7, Christopher’s Reason Recovery Center, and Volunteers of America Early Learning Center. Assemblyman Reilly’s visit to District 61 on the North Shore consisted of visits to P.S. 31 Samuel Dupont, Goodhue Center and the Museum of Maritime Navigation.

In the commonly referred saying, “the way to a person’s heart is through their stomach,” both lawmakers showed bipartisanship by visiting Denino’s Pizzeria on 524 Port Richmond Avenue and Gigi’s Café located on 7425 Amboy Road.

Assemblyman Charles D. Fall: “First and foremost, I would like to thank my colleague Assemblyman Reilly for visiting my district. There are many unifying concerns that we share across the Island including a desire for better transportation, safe streets and affordable healthcare. Issues we will continue to certainly address in both our districts, across the Island and in Albany.”

Assemblyman Michael Reilly: “It was great to learn about some of the wonderful and exciting things happening on the North Shore. No matter where you are from, the sense of community is strong, and today’s tour reaffirmed that belief. I thank Assemblyman Fall for taking the time to tour my district and hope he found it just as insightful.”
