“While the governor and Majority say they have finally reached an agreement on a $254 billion state budget for FY 2025-26, in reality, there is only an idea of an agreement many state legislators are still not happy with. As budget negotiations continue behind closed doors, it is obvious this year’s budget will be riddled with unnecessary policies and overspending. It has been very discouraging to see such a lack of transparency from the governor and other Majority lawmakers throughout this process. This tentative budget proposal will ultimately cripple our state’s economy further rather than fix the affordability issues the governor promised to tackle weeks ago.”
