Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan (R,C-Manchester) is proud to announce that he has secured $50,000 in funding for Blue Star Canteen NY #1, a local chapter of the Blue Star Mothers of America. This vital funding will support necessary renovations to the Canteen’s facility in Canandaigua, ensuring that it remains a welcoming and functional space for local military families.

Blue Star Canteen NY #1 serves as an essential resource for military families in the region, offering a safe, supportive environment for them to gather, share experiences and receive much-needed support. The allocated funding will go towards significant improvements to both the interior and exterior of the facility, making it a more accessible and comfortable space for the families it serves.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to support the dedicated Blue Star Canteen team in Canandaigua,” said Assemblyman Gallahan. “Our military families make incredible sacrifices, and it is crucial that we provide them with the resources and spaces they need to thrive. This funding will help ensure that the Canteen’s building is safe, welcoming and equipped to meet the needs of those who serve our country and their loved ones.”

“The veterans are absolutely thrilled to have their home away from home refurbished. It means a lot to us to have the Canteen updated and made safe for our veterans so that we can continue to serve them and supply for their needs. We are most grateful to Assemblyman Gallahan for the generous grant and are eagerly awaiting the results,” said Joyce Mader, president of the Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. NY Chapter #1.
