Assemblywoman Buttenschon: Local Tech Firm Secures $1 Million Contract with U.S. Army

“I would like to congratulate ANDRO Computational Solutions LLC of Rome for securing a $1.1 million U.S. Army contract to develop DeepSPECTM, a platform for enhancing radio signal detection and classification.[1] The tech industry has played an important role in the economic development of the Mohawk Valley, and I hope this federal contract will help create more good-paying local jobs in this sector.

“Furthermore, as a former college administrator, I know firsthand just how important it is to train our younger generation and ensure our workforce has the skills required to participate in the high-tech economy. That’s why I’m fighting to pass a state budget that ensures educational institutions, such as Mohawk Valley Community College and SUNY Polytechnic Institute, receive the support they need to properly train our workers for employment in these emerging fields. This new Army contract is a step in the right direction towards expanding our tech sector, and I’ll continue to work to provide the resources the Mohawk Valley needs to succeed.”
