Assemblywoman Buttenschon Encourages Participation in Photo with a Vet Campaign

Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon (D-Utica/Rome) announced that she is holding a Photo with a Vet campaign this November in honor of Veterans Day.

“The brave men and women who selflessly put their lives on the line and served our country deserve our utmost respect and gratitude each and every day,” Buttenschon said. “But it’s especially important that we take the time on Veterans Day to thank them for the sacrifices they made. My photo campaign gives individuals a chance to show their appreciation for a veteran in their life, and I look forward to seeing their submissions and honoring our local heroes.”

Individuals of all ages are encouraged to send Buttenschon a photo of themselves with a veteran they admire, along with a brief note about why this veteran is important to them or to others. Submissions should also include the individuals name and the city, town or village they live in. All those who reside in the 119th Assembly District are invited to participate. Photos must be submitted by Friday, Nov. 8, and can be sent via email to veteransphotosnyassembly@gmail.com. Buttenschon will feature the photos on her Facebook page and in her office.

As a member of the Assembly Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, Buttenschon has been committed to ensuring our veterans get the resources and support they deserve. This year, she helped pass a state budget that restores $1.6 million for programs that will assist our veterans as they transition back to civilian life, including funding for mental health services.
