Palmesano Decries Violence in Washington

A Statement by Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C,I-Corning)

"The destruction and violence that took place at our nation’s Capitol was so very sad, wrong and completely unacceptable. We witnessed an unprecedented attack on our democracy and the dedicated law enforcement officials sworn to protect it. Citizens have a constitutional right to peacefully protest. No citizen has the right to violence and destruction. It was wrong when it happened in cities across the country this summer, and it was especially damaging yesterday. We can, and must, do better. We all need to look in the mirror today and ask ourselves what we can do to heal these divisions and move forward," said Palmesano.
